About Obstetrics and Gynecology

Obstetrics and Gynecology is a field of medicine that relates to the care of women in the pregnant and non-pregnant state.

Obstetrics refers to the care of the pregnant woman and her unborn child until 6 weeks after delivery.

Gynecology refers to the care of the female reproductive tract from adolescence through menopause.

When choosing an OB/GYN physician, we recommend that you use your local Medical Association. By contacting them, you can receive information on the physician member's education, specialty training, certifications, and other topics to aid in your decision process. All members have undergone close monitoring by each association's credentialing process which verifies a physician's medical education and background.

The doctors at the Metropolitan Women's Group are all highly educated, residency-trained, Board Certified Obstetric and Gynecological Physicians. Board Certified means they have met the professional standards of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
